It only took 14 years…

On Saturday we went to Heritage Park.  Confession: I’ve lived in Calgary since 1996 and I’ve never been there.  Ok, that’s not totally true — I’ve been there a couple times for work functions and/or various parties…but never just to visit the park and walk around and take it all in.  I know…for shame.  Anyway, we figured Canada Day weekend was as good a time as ever to go and check it out.  And we had a great day!  Truthfully, Jak couldn’t have cared less about most of it (including the very noisy train!) — he was just happy to be out and walking around somewhere new.  Maguire was a total champ and enjoyed his stroller vantage point thru it all.  Granddad came with us, which meant we had a third ‘Jak-wrangler’ and someone else who took turns pushing the stroller.  Pretty sure Nick enjoyed the park the most, although he was a bit disappointed that he didn’t see any ghosts in the Prince House.  As for me, I’m glad I finally went to see what all the fuss is about.  My favourite part was the cinnamon bun from the Bakery…oh, and the fact that the kids were totally exhausted by the time we were leaving and both had good long naps when we got home!
