Mr. Maguire is 5 months old today. I know I’m a totally broken record…but HOW THE HECK DID THAT HAPPEN SO FAST?? My baby isn’t much of a baby anymore…which makes me sad because I don’t think I slowed down often enough these past months to really just soak him in and enjoy every single second. *sigh*
Okay, enough downer-itis. Can I tell you how much I love this age?? Eat, sleep, play and poop. That’s pretty much it and it’s awesome. Having a 2 year old has made me appreciate all the more these “pre-tantrum” days. As long as Maguire is fed — because let’s be honest, he’s a perfect mix of Blakeney and Skerik and food is important, people! — he’s the happiest little guy. Full face smiles are still his specialty and oh, the laughs. The full-on belly laughs. If I could make him laugh all day long, I would.
Maguire, my man, here are just a few of the things I love, love, love about you these days:
- That twinkle in your eye when I come to get you in the morning or after your naps, followed up with that monster smile of yours has made wake-up time my favourite moments of the day.
- Although I’m a smidge bit jealous that I’m not the one who can make you laugh the most, it melts my heart when I see you and Jakzen “playing” together already. If this is foreshadowing of what’s to come, I can’t wait to see what you two characters are gonna get up to.
- You are already checking out my sandwiches, cookies, fries, cereal, etc. I don’t think we’re gonna make the 6 month mark before you get a taste of real food…plus, they don’t make bigger bottles than what we already have…I checked.
- You are always content to go anywhere and do anything, as long as you have a good view. Thank you for being patient and happy and just totally and completely content to hang out for a few extra minutes while I chase after your brother.
- It’s time for me to purge your closet…again. You may only be 5 months old today, but you are wearing 9 month+ clothes (weighing in at nearly 18 pounds!). You outgrew a lot of your shoes before we even had a chance to put ‘em on you. I think it’s great that you are growing big and strong, but if the size of your hands and feet are any indication of how big you’re gonna get, you might just be bigger than your mama before you’re 3.
Five months. Already. Awesome. ♥
