Costume Reveal ~ Number 4 ~ Chop, Chop

Yes, Jakzen has two Halloween costumes.  The Superman one was for him.  This one is for me.  I had to continue the tradition of “Jak” costumes — his first Halloween, he was a Jak o’ Lantern.  Last year he was Captain Jak Sparrow.  And this year…LUMBER JAK.  And I actually have Kara to thank for this idea.  We were chatting away a couple of months ago and yes, somehow Lumberjack came up in conversation — we talk about a lot of stuff, people.  She said it.  Not in relation to Halloween.  But it triggered the costume idea in my brain.  So once again I got online (surprise, surprise) and went looking for kid’s suspenders — the hardest part of the costume to find, but definitely the most integral.  The rest was easy…right up until it was time for the beard.  I bought a fake beard from the store, but soon realized there was no way he was going to let me stick something to his face.  Plan B – draw one on.  And all I can say is that the key here is PROPS!  Oh, how that axe came in handy to bribe him to sit still while I drew on his face.

When we took the pictures, Jak took his job of chopping wood (absconded from the neighbour’s yard) very seriously.  Our guy is apparently not afraid of manual labour.  And he looks very handsome (and burly) doing it.
