Nick met Lisa thru a news shoot he shot for CityTV a while back.  It was a fashion piece, and Lisa was the coordinator of the event.  They kept in touch and *thankfully* Lisa thought of Nick when she and her boss needed new headshots.

Enter Mandy.  It was so cool to see the relationship between Lisa and Mandy during the shoot.  Although technically Mandy is the “boss”, it was totally apparent that they are friends, too.  Love that.  Oh, and get this — Mandy brought WINE to the shoot!  Yup, she currently holds the title of favourite client. 

Mandy, you were such a good sport!  Thanks for trusting us.  You are crazy pretty, and so incredibly sweet. 

Lisa, we loved that you had your own ideas and wanted to try new things.  You are tons of fun and so many of your pictures were amazing!

This was sooooo hard for me.  I really don’t like being in front of the camera.  I enjoy being behind-the-scenes (especially for maternity shoots!) and getting the mamas to turn just right, and smile just right, and be their beautiful selves just right.  To take all that away from me by putting me in front of the camera??  Oy.  Thankfully there was a truckload of help here to ease my pain.  Kara did my make-up, of course, and I had to do a double-take when I looked in the mirror — was that really me staring back at me??  Jen had dropped in for a visit, and although we hadn’t officially recruited her to help, she took it upon herself to entertain Jak — which turns out we desperately needed.  And then Nick, of course, had some ideas of what he wanted to do and managed to get me to cooperate somehow — a daunting task, indeed.

And now…the result…

Now if me and my “entourage” can make me look this good, just imagine what we can do for you!    FYI – I prefer the first shot, but figured I needed to include a smiley one, too — you’re welcome, Mom.

And, ok, so perhaps I’m not a Ten out of 10.  But definitely a solid 7.5, if I do say so myself!

This is the beautiful mama, very close to her due date.  (I know — ridiculous how great she looks, right??  This shoot was so much fun!  She was game for anything, and came with a lot of fun things to incorporate into her shots — including a pink fedora!) 

And then…a few short weeks later, we got to meet WILLEM.  A total sweetheart.  Adorable.  He was 17 days old when we photographed him, and he was wide awake the entire time.  He indulged us, however, and we got some great shots of this handsome little newborn. 

Elise only had one request of us…she wanted to try to catch Willem’s sweet little dimple.  And Willem obliged.  Just once…but that was enough! 

Elise, I can’t thank you and Nick enough for letting us shoot not only your maternity photos, but also your sweet baby boy.  It was great meeting you and your new family, and I hope we’ll be shooting plenty more photos of you guys in the future!
