BIG PICTURE PHOTOGRAPHY – Milestones x3

Three big days and three milestones around the Blakeney’s…

June 1st – Jak is now 15 months old.  He seems to grow and change every single day…perhaps that’s because there have some big changes in Jak’s world in the last month.  The biggest — HE’S CRAWLING.  After hours and days and weeks and months of working with him and doing everything in my power to entice him to MOVE forward, Grandma showed up and got him crawling in less than 2 minutes.  Literally less than 2 minutes.  What a stinker.  Grandma, however, was thrilled.  *sigh*   Since then, he’s constantly on the move and is working on hoisting his +27lbs up to standing.  We’ve had a lot of doc appointments and saw a physiotherapist, too, and I’m happy to report that they have all been great and have definitely pointed me in the right direction as to what to do to help Jakzen get moving!

June 2nd – Seven…SEVEN…years ago, Nick picked me up from the airport as I got back from the MTV Movie Awards.  It was late.  I looked awful.  I was super tired.  But it marked the start of our relationship.  Before I left, he had had a girlfriend (gasp!).  But apparently absence makes the heart grow fonder, and he got rid of the girlfriend while I was away…and when he picked me up, it really was our first date, even if it was just a car ride home!  Seven years.  Yowza.

June 3rd – Today marks my 15th week of this pregnancy.  Considering this baby is most likely to be early, too (just like his/her big brother!), that means we’re looking at about another 20 weeks of ‘belly time’.  That sounds like a lot…until I remember that it’s already been 15 weeks.  Yowza again.  I’m not sure exactly how you prepare for the arrival of Baby #2, so bring on the advice, my friends!  And in the meantime, I’m going to breathe deeply into a paper bag.

And speaking of Big Brothers…good thing this little sucker is cute, because he’s t-r-o-u-b-l-e.   :)

erin - team kelly - Jak! I see that sweet face and I neeeeeeed to snuggle you! Congrats on your big brother status, my friend. Thank goodness your daddy picked up your mommy from the airport 7 years ago. I remember when he'd make up excuses to come upstairs to MTV to talk to your mommy. He'd wear his vest, and his lumberjack shirt (lumberjak shirt?) and his giant smile, and we'd all skeedaddle out of her office so your daddy could sit and shamelessly flirt with your mommy. All the ladies hung out together but for some reason, your mama started givin' us the "GET.OUT.OF.HERE. look" when your daddy would come strolling down the hallway. Hmmph. I guess she knew what she was in for!June 3, 2009 - 10:23 pm
